The Bowgie Inn
A busy and popular pub located on the Cornish clifftops was looking for a complete website redesign. They felt like the old site was outdated and didn’t show off everything that the business offered. They wanted a new site that was image led and demonstrated the broad appeal and varied offering of the business.
We designed a clean modular landing page that linked to a range of different pages, including food, music, events and sports. We focused on delivering a high visual impact and providing information without creating clutter. In order to ensure that the site was not too text heavy, we produced informative but concise copy that provided all the important information for customers. We utilised the brand colours and a white background to maximise the impact, alongside beautiful photography. To ensure an excellent user experience for mobile visitors, we focused on creating a fluid and responsive site that looked beautiful whatever the screen size.
What happened next?
The Bowgie has gone from strength to strength; they were nominated for their digital marketing at the Cornish Business Awards, and have instituted a hugely popular ‘Wall of Fame’ feature on their website, where customers share their snaps on social media to appear on The Bowgie’s big screens around the pub. They have also incorporated a surf-cam into the site, which has hugely increased the monthly traffic. In the first full month of the new site being live, there was a 95% increase in traffic when compared to the same month in the previous year. The traffic to the site has continued to do well since and performs very well compared to similar websites in the locality.
