All in all, life really is better at 20mph! The knock on effect from @cornwallcouncil’s latest campaign can be seen already…

From strap-lines and visions, to graphic design and digital marketing, we’ve loved bringing this campaign to life.

Inspired by the idealistic notion of life drifting

Inspired by the idealistic notion of life drifting at an easier, slower pace, our graphic designer Kate created these collages to showcase how life is simply better at 20mph for @cornwallcouncil's latest road safety campaign. Using black and white imagery - elements of which were shot by our commercial filmmaker Simon - Kate then layered pops of yellow through specific aspects like clothing and accessories to weave in the council’s signature colour.

Kate brought these streets to life with the people that use them - from horse riders, morning walkers and runners, to kids heading off to school and learner drivers - focusing on the heart of the community to visually communicate how the campaign would positively impact their lives.

Storytelling in a county-wide campaign - this is our bread and butter.

In a bid to make life safer, greener and healthier

In a bid to make life safer, greener and healthier, @cornwallcouncil have reduced the majority of 30mph speed limits to 20mph in main areas across the county 👏

To encourage support and involvement from the community, the council wanted to create a campaign that caught the eye of individuals living in said areas - which is where we came in.

This campaign was created for social advertising, banners outside community spaces and for schools/colleges within the local areas.

It’s no secret that the care sector is understaf

It’s no secret that the care sector is understaffed, underfunded and undervalued. It’s a crisis that’s affecting lives across the globe whilst also being part of why @bluebirdcaremidandwestcornwall came to us wanting to do something ‘different.’

They needed to capture a feeling, light a spark; to tell a story, celebrating the people who make up the company - with one of their care assistants Rachel embodying it all.

Hearing a client say ‘we want something stand-out’ is like winning the creative lottery. Nothing excites us more than a chance to use our skills to push the boundaries of expectation and produce something memorable.

The ‘Be More Rachel’ idea evolved within an initial discovery session, where members of the Bluebird Care team voiced how incredible Rachel is both as a carer and a human being, saying the dream would be to have more Rachels in the care sector (hence the concept was born).

Director Simon interviewed Rachel, finding out who she is, what she does and what makes her tick; delving deep into the ‘who’ behind Rachel and exploring why we should all be more like her.

Simon then took that information, formed a script with our copywriter Robyn, and pitched it back to the client (who adored the concept). The video took a day to film, featuring real people from the Bluebird Care community. The final edit was premiered to colleagues of Rachel before being presented to the wider world.

We are very proud of this film and would like to thank the whole team at Bluebird Care for helping to bring this idea to life. So, without further ado, let us introduce you to Rachel…
