Having only ever advertised their properties on a large, external bookings website, Caerhays Holidays needed its own website where they could take back control of their property management and brand. We were already working with the Caerhays Estate team having helped with web design, social media content, blogs and photography, so we already knew that the new Caerhays Holidays website needed to slot in with the overall brand whilst still retaining its own presence, reflecting the timelessness and classic look of the properties.
The main aims of the online space were to allow people people to book their stays directly online, really show off the properties and optimise the ease of the user-journey. After designing a slick layout that looked as elegant as the Caerhays Holidays brand, we made sure all the necessary plug ins and features were in place, like an availability calendar and links to their third-party booking engine, so the user experience was seamless. Whilst we designed, developed and built the website, we collaborated on the project with a local company called Forgecom who created the content.
What happened next?
The Caerhays Holidays website officially launched in January 2019, giving it its own separate identity whilst still retaining ties to the overall Estate brand. The launch was a huge success – with increased traffic organically finding its way to the site through a significantly improved user journey. Not only did Caerhays Holidays increase the amount of bookings they’d seen with their previous external bookings agency, but the new site also recorded an average session duration of 3.13 mins (industry average of around 2 minutes) and pages per session of 3.62 (industry average of 2.8).
