Close links with our partner primary schools ensure that Year 6 pupils are well prepared for their arrival at The Roseland.
The Headteacher visits all the schools in the autumn with the Transition Coordinator (Mrs Alison Buscombe) and Learning Leader for lower school students (Mrs Diane Stevens). An open evening is held in the autumn when pupils can experience all the different opportunities on offer.
Youngsters come to the school throughout the year on a regular basis to use the eLearning centre. In the summer term Year 6 pupils are visited again by the Assistant Headteacher (SENCo/Inclusion), Learning Leader (Lower School) and Transition Coordinator and come for an induction day. In the evening they and their parents meet their tutors.
Each pupil is offered a Year 7 email ‘buddy’ from their area prior to starting at the college.
Curriculum information evenings for parents of students in all year groups are held in the autumn term (Year 7 very early in the term), led by the Headteacher and the Deputy Headteacher with responsibility for Curriculum Development. |
